DJI NAZA with GPS

I have a new quadcopter. I bought a DJI NAZA f450 kit and i also bought the GPS module for it. Just testing the GPS position hold, and i think it works great.

It's 3S 4000 mAh Zippy compact, and i like them, i have had them for about a year now, i got about 20 min flight time out of them when they were new, now i get about 13 min, but that is with a lot of abuse, i always store them fully charged (you never know when you want to fly). I prefer them over the nanotechs and turinys..

It is the V1, the main difference is that the v2 unit have black plastic instead of white. The white v1 naza unit is sensitive to light. If the sun hits it from one of the sides the quad will drop (it's the barometric sensor that is light sensitive). To fix this, put black tape on the sides of the v1 naza unit. The v1 and the v2 main unit have the same hardware what I know, but the external hardware are a bit different..

Yes, I have my motors and props balanced right on. Got everything hooked up last night and did the compass calibration. I have not flown it yet so videos to come! Check out my channel when you get a second.

No the Altitude hold is in the Naza unit. No gps is needed. But i would recommend getting a gps later to it. So far i think the Naza with GPS has the best position hold in it's price range... :-)

Yes i think the wookong will fit, i have seen videos with that on the f450 frame. The props i have is 10" so it will fit, you use 10" if you have 3s battery if you have 4s you use 8" props (thats with the stock dji 920kv motors)

I cant remember what i used in this video, think it was default (100) or 110 on everything, except yaw, i like a little higher on yaw 140 perhaps.. The more weight i put on my quad the more i increase the values. A good ting with the naza is that you can tie a setting to a channel and adjust with a knob on the radio. And tune while flying, and when you like it then you can look at the computer to see the value and write that permanent to that setting..

The reason i wonder was because the position hold stability was just insanely good in the vid. I have heard that the V2 had a firmware with better calculations that improved hight stability and such and thus i thought this was the V2 because i have seen V1 vids where the Positon Hold was not as good as in this vid so that was good it was the V1.

Have one V1 on its way and i didn´t knew about the light sensitivity of the barometer, very strange thing, so thanks for the info and tip!

I have x: -3 cm y: -3 cm z: -10 cm, but i think it is more important to calibrate the compass. I do that first every day i fly..

It's come a long way, I started building my own multiwii controller with wii parts.. At the time I got my Naza and GPS, nothing else come even close tho the position hold stability of the Naza. But I do like the Naza and think its wort the money. I use multiwii on smaller quads more for fun flying..

Yes i will, i already have made a ccd fpv pod for it. However i have some issues with my naza unit, if i fly fast forward in atti or gps atti mode, it climbs up like a rocket by itself.. I am in contact with DJI, waiting the have the issue resolved..

I don't have a link but i bought it from seller flying-hobby on ebay. They seams very good, the naza unit i bought was defect, and i didn't know until i had it for a few weeks. (flying forward fast caused it to go up like a rocket). But it had no problem contacting them and sending it back for repair, so i would recommend flying-hobby ! I will do more business with them in the future because it feels very safe to know if something is wrong, they can be relied on..

I have hacked my 9x with the er9x firmware, and there i just have basic settings, no mixes or expos etc.. Make sure you have balanced your props and that you have calibrated the compass and that the unit and gps are correctly placed.. I think it is morwe a quad setup issue then the radio..

is that distance actually corrected by the GPS ? it would be a really sensitive system...
I wonder if the ACC set  has got any kind of memory to return back those few feet which it was moved to.

I have no experience with that site, i bought mine from seller: flying-hobby on ebay. Very good seller. And i always pay with paypal, that adds safety..And also ebay adds safety.. But notice that now the entire China is closed down, they celebrate their new year, so expect looong delivery time ! Hope it works out for you !
