This week KAOS Guitar Manager Lou Roppoli puts the Marshall DSL15c through its paces. This compact 15-watt amp features an all-tube design and is capable of getting tones that stretch the entire legendary history or Marshall amps. Here's what the Marshall website has to say about the DSL15C:

The DSL15C is a compact, all-valve 15 Watt combo that delivers on tone. Powered by two 6V6 power valves and three ECC83s in the preamp, the DSL15C might be small, but its guts are as serious as its big brother, the DSL100H.
With footswitchable Classic/Ultra Gain channels, Deep switch to boost lower-end chunk, and on the back panel, a Pentode/Triode switch for maximum flexibility (15 Watt to 7.5 Watt), the DSL15H perfectly combines performance, versatility and value for money.
The DSL15C is loaded with a single 12” Celestion G12E speaker, and is supplied with a two button footswitch for channel change and Reverb on/off.

Here is the full list of specs for this amplifier:

Cool review BUT why is the camera only focused on the guy playing the guitar? I can't even see the size of the amp compared to the guy in the video. Why not have both in the picture?

I just bought the DSL15H today. The only difference between the two is the 15H doesn't have reverb. Classic Gain channel is based on the 1959SLP, and the Ultra Gain is based on the JCM 2000. Marshall makes a 40 watt combo with different tubes. A fantastic amp.

Classic Marshall/Gibson Tones. Fine.
Only the added reverb in post process could be less, but no prob.
Thumbs up

I have many cool amps and, this is one of them.  I like the full power but, the 7.5 watt power is not bad either.  Even though it is only 15 watts it is still pretty loud.  So far this is a pretty guitar friendly amp. I like playing one of my Les Pauls  with P90s with this amp.  The 6V6s have a great warm tone.  I like putting overdrive pedals with this amp also.  TS808 and East River Drive sound good on this amp.  I consider it pretty pedal friendly.  My Les Paul Standard Plus with Burstbucker Pros sounds excellent through this amp.  I used one of these when I demoed my guitar in the store before i purchased it.  I could not get the great tone out of my mind so, I wound up buying one of these.

I have the same. Ultra Gain is very "fizzy". You really need to dial down the gain knob to 2 or 2.3 and set it to half power setting to make it even usable.

i am thinkinf for buying a blackstar ht5rh with vox-celestion g12m greenback cabient or this...

If the ultra gain on the DSL15 is similar to the OD1 mode of the ultra gain on the 40C, that would have been great. Give yourself some time to test drive both amps to see with one fits your style.

The ultra gain is very fizzy.. I have the C76 cap snipped to get get it useable. Majority of DSL15 users have modded the ultra gain channel to make it more tonally palatable. Try one yourself and see if you can handle the fizziness. I couldn't.

You will have a hard time finding a hard rock tone on the DSL15. I think you may be better off with a Blackstar. Changing your PU's won't solve the "fizz" on the DSL15. I spent more time tweaking than playing with the stock DSL so I ended up modding it.. Good luck.

The camera shot are random and have nothing to do with what the guy's comments. Pretty bad.

Show the amp, not the guitar player. I'm sorry we want to see the amp and it's settings. I know you guy's can do better then that. It's just a tip!
