Lyrics:
In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, honey,
Don't you know that I love you?
In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, baby,
Don't you know that i'll always be true?

Oh, won't you come with me
And take my hand?

Oh, won't you come with me
And walk this land?

Please take my hand!

In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, honey,
Don't you know that I love you?
In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, baby,
Don't you know that i'll always be true?

Oh, won't you come with me
And take my hand?

Oh, won't you come with me
And walk this land?

Please take my hand!

(Solos)

In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, honey,
Don't you know that I love you?
In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, baby,
Don't you know that i'll always be true?

Oh, won't you come with me
And take my hand?

Oh, won't you come with me
And walk this land?

Please take my hand!

Discovered this in my brothers record collection in the 70´s. I was forbidden to touch his records. But when I was alone, I put this record on and that was really mindblowing for that time. Some years later when he moved out he left this record. I used this drumsolo to practise after, sitting in a armchair moving my feet and hands. Copied every stroke that I could hear.

My dad had this record. Used to love looking at that album cover and always discovering something I hadn't seen before.

18:49 of happiness ! When I was young, I used to listen this version. It reminds me the years that have gone...

"πρῶτος μεταξὺ ἴσων" or simply said primus inter pares...!
Such inimitable vituosity.

And because I love all of my family and friends more than myself I've decided to have this whole version played at my funeral.
Just to let them know I'll be in "The Garden" by then...

The singer has a distinctive voice, as Lemmy of Motorhead fame. Highly enjoyable for this classic back in the day. HAIL Thee Eternally HEAVY!!!

I was introduced to the IB early '67 at one of the Dave Diamond Concerts in LA out in the Valley. They were opening for Love and then fhe Doors. Those concerts were absolutely phenomenal as one great band led to another topped off by the Lizard King himself. The organs of the IB and the Doors created an eerie mood. I was only 15 and had ingested a little purple pill and began to feel the effects when the IB came on. And how did I "come on". I had never heard a band who played so clearly as the IB and the Doors. It was so loud the building shook. But so clear. Will never forget it.

When I was young, we started our Saturday night trips on acid with this song. Good times.

Friends of mine, not as steeped in Iron Butterfly as others, are somewhat amazed when I tell them that they have to try the live version of In A Gadda Da Vida, and discover that Ingle's voice is even deeper outside of the studio than in. I compare it to something coming out of the bottom of a cement
