The RS-25 engine start up procedure is simply amazing, pure example of engineering art!

I find this more exciting than watching the space X launch 🚀. The engines just show so much power. Miss the space shuttle launches 🚀. 😢

Wow the music and launch sequencing ✓❤️

astonishing footage, a footage under the engines would be great if there is.

A shame that they didn't have any low exposure cameras, not that I've seen at least, would've loved to see some close up shots of the plumes

The slow motion footage of the Apollo launches from the 60's was better.

Nice.
Bit wobbly though, and that flickering on-off of images jarred me a bit.
On shuttle launches, and even old Saturn V footage, you can see the slow motion capture happen more stabile, and the exposure adjustment on those old cameras was a lot faster too - now it's an immediate blinding washout once the exhausts come into view.
I'd happily do without the 4K, and get some old cameras that worked so well before 😉

Agree. 180+ Falcon 9 and Falcon SuperHeavy launches PLUS reusability.... And now Starship....I was at there today...it scrubbed but will launch in a few days. Might blow up...but when the 1st Starship launches Nasa needs to fire those folks.

Funny how people complain that it is a single use rocket, in comparison to spacex starship. spacex just put an expendable starship on the pad. K. As someone into metalworking, I love seeing the up close shots of the rocket parts and components. The engineering is extreme. Modern cameras and pictures allow examination of every detail. Compare the painted body of the rocket to the absolute hellish explosion happening at the bottom of this unit.

Space Shuttle? Oh no sorry, my bad, the similarities. Amazing how things don’t change over 40 years lol then there is SpaceX well ahead of it’s time, at 1/8 the cost. NASA should cut its losses and just have SpaceX do their rocket work.

its awesome to see the first and last fly of this rocket

our tax dollars up in the air. Finally. 🚀

$ 4.3 billion. $ 23 billion in total. Next flight: May 2024. Imagine: we could have had 100 Starships for that price, launching twice a week. Oh, well.

Too bad it’s an obsolete single-use rocket.

Poor, really poor footage! Where are the rocksteady cameras from the Saturn V launches gone? Wobble wobble wobble... this is no JJAbrams-movie, get a bloody tripod!
