The rilles are the collapsed remnants of lava tubes that were once covered, then collapsed. Very stunning 4K Photos!

I want to see some 4K video of some of the Apollo landing sites. That would be cool to see.

There is nothing "shocking" about these pictures. But the correct word to describe them is ASTOUNDING!

I still find it amazing that NASA with 1960s technology landed a a man on the moon, then took off again reconnected with the orbiting craft, and then flew back to earth, I watched it on TV with my family at the time,

It would have been cool to see the markings from when we landed on the moon in the 70’s. Now that would be cool.

It would be cool if Artemis flew over one of the Apollo sites as well.

Ground based telescopes can take almost as good pictures. Great mission but I hope they do better in the future

I love comparing the size of shadows off of the terrain and crater rims. Im sure there is a calculation to determine their height based on the sun angle.

The moon looks very similar in detail through my 12.5" custom built reflector.

Nice images, would be helpful to some if you could place a distance scale down in the corner :)

Why can't they get the contrast correct, always those blown out highlights.

Beautiful images. The moon is so interesting because if it’s composition and lack of atmosphere. Perfect to trap and preserve impact objects. I’m thinking lunar archaeology. Imagine what we will discover.
