Today I'll show you how to turn glass pots into aged, stone-looking vases using baking soda. I tested out a few techniques and they all worked so well.
I achieved that antique wabi-sabi effect and flipped these glass vases into textured pieces.
These vases are super inexpensive, fun, and easy to thrift flip! I made them using baking soda and ingredients you probably have at home, such as coffee and dirt.
You will be amazed at how beautiful these textured vases turned out. They really give that stone effect and make a great wabi-sabi decor.
I cannot believe how this DIY turned out, what a transformation! I turned it into an experiment testing few different techniques to find out how to DIY the perfect FAUX stone VASES! And they all turned out amazing!

I really loved them them all. I loved the different effects and textures that adding coffee grounds and dirt gave the pieces. ❤❤

Wow, these turned out great! I've used baking soda before but will definitely have to try adding dirt/coffee. I love the effect you created. I recently aged my indoor terracotta plant pots that were looking too orange with my neutral décor. I got a small bag of calcium carbonate powder and mixed it with water to a milky consistency, (effectively what lime wash is made of but it's generally sold for reptile care! You can mix up garden lime granules with water to do this too). You don't need much at all. After three rounds of brushing on coats and allowing them to dry in-between, I just gave the pots a quick rub down with a damp cloth to remove any dust. It dried really quick and the lime is also good for the health of the plants inside the terracotta pots. I'd definitely recommend giving it a go if you haven't already tried it, just wear gloves and be mindful of breathing in dust particles as you would be with cement/Plaster of Paris - a mask is a good idea. I had no issues using it, and it's very easy to clean up any drips. They look full of character now, are a more muted tone and they fit in a lot better with my décor :-) Have a wonderful rest of your day, thanks for another fab video!

I like them all! I will be trying this on vases I was going to give to charity. Now they will have a new purpose. I've seen the dirt ones before but the coffee was a new one for me Thank you ❤

THANK YOU!
THIRD with COFFEE!! Loved them all but that was my favorite! You might put some DIRT on the coffee one too & it would be PERFECT!

These are beautiful ❤ I made something similar i took an old tall vase and gloves and used left over joint compound and i put it all over my vase it dries fast i went over it a second time for coverage and added some texture and it looks like i paid for this. I was going for neutral vibes in my living room and the vase is perfect i added some faux green plants to top it off. My next one i will try the coffee method.

I tried the first technique worked, perfectly. I added too much Bicarbonate of soda, over eager I guess. Just added some water still came out great!🎉
