This is a very interesting concept; I fear this could fall into the trap of having "far too many cooks in the kitchen, " but there's no doubt that getting fans together to throw together concepts could result in a lot of different potential fan films and adaptations that do Minecraft more justice than the "official" one ever could.

I like how people are actually trying to improve things instead of just complaining about how bad a minecraft movie is. True Minecraft fans, I'm in :)

I'd like to look at this with realistic optimism, though I don't know anything.

1 - This project looks like it needs at least several years in work, just by looking at the sheer amount of people it is working with
2 - This project needs some *SERIOUS* management skills, it is not at all easy to control that many people. A *very* rigid system is needed.
3 - It will be really hard to but up a rigid story since SO MANY will contribute. I'd suggest not a movie but series since it will be faster and continuous while giving faster satisfaction, but you guys seem really passionate about making a movie. Hey! Maybe you can even make both with time!
4 - It needs a proper and rigid documentation. Everyone (most) will have to know what is canon for the movie and what is not easily, I'm not experienced with this, but a wiki(?) or custom website of sorts seem of high importance.
5 - DON'T BURN OUT! TAKE CARE OF YOURSELVES!
6 - You guys will have to say lots of no. just a reminder.
7 - There will be lots of kids. There needs to be a system to filter them out or at least manage approval. Also trolls.
8 - Again, something of this size needs so much effort in management, just discord and a few other websites might not be enough (well not impossible), good luck!

I'm just throwing out ideas I thought might help, don't take me that seriously.

I have previously worked (and am still working) on a similar project recently (albeit with a fewer people), and I want to comment a few flaws that might exist with this movie:
1. Once the initial hype dies down, 90% of the people who join the project won't do anything and will either be dead weight or will just leave
2. the voting system sounds like its going to be scrapping 90% of the stuff the community makes, which will encourage even more people to leave, and will ultimately result in lots of people making different movies, only one of which is picked
3. The project will likely be trapped in development hell once the initial hype dies down
4. Without proper organised leadership and departments, chaos will ensue, and even more work will be lost than would otherwise
5. For most steps, instead of voting so that only one person does the work, it's better to ensure that everyone contributes a piece so that they don't get one person effectively making each section of the movie

The only worry I have with the voting system is that then the entire plot would basically be known way before the movie even comes out. On one hand it's great that the community gets to vote but on the other hand I feel like that could take away from the surprise of interesting storybeats and stuff like that. People go to see a movie to see a cool story but if everybody knows the plot ahead of time it could greatly affect the numbers.

FEEDBACK AND A STATEMENT FOR ANYONE CONSIDERING JOINING: I am a professional visdev artist and a storyboard artist working in the animation pipeline for over 2 years. I have even contributed to a film which got screened at Annecy. I got into the discord with intentions of helping the movie be the greatest thing ever, but right now the discord is in shambles.

There needs to be a proper leadership to ensure cohesion and provide direction, screening process for various departments to find out people who are really there to work and cull out the others who are just there to vote.

An hour ago i was on a discord call with like 30 people all trying to redundantly figure the plot out, and they are not even writers, so they are throwing out ideas which have already been done before, or some generic lore they found on reddit. The passion to push boundaries is lost in all the chaos and people are jumping the gun. Random concept art being thrown around, ideas being tossed into the chat idk if anyones even keeping track of them.

I write this because i am indeed very passionate about this. I have been an avid consumer and player of minecraft and want to contribute my skills to something meaningful, and i hope i will get to do that and this project wont die in a week. This is a request to form a proper pipeline, assign leadership roles and find the best of the best talents to contribute to the movie.

Strength in numbers is true but in case of making a movie we need to cull out people who are not serious about it. “Person is smart and a crowd is stupid” and what i saw on the discord was prime example of that. Please please please let this be good and i hope there is some order. I hope this project gets made and i hope i can contribute my expertise on it.
