I never went to uni for writing, but I’ve always loved writing. This week I realized I want to write a children’s book for ages 3-6. My daughter is my inspiration. I have an idea but I have no idea how to evolve the story. I have the characters and a general idea of what they’re doing, but I don’t know how to even start to put it down on paper.

Self publishing has a lot of advantages. For example, the characters in my book are based on children in my family. My family is very mixed (Chinese, Jamaican, Mixed European). It looks to me that if a publisher doesn't like my illustrations they could hire an illustrator to insert a white middle class family and if I want it published, I would have to cooperate.

My first book 📚 is a Easter book 😊 and I'm self publishing with Christian Faith publishing. It will be done sometime in 2022 yr. But after May or June July. I don't know for sure yet. They are doing the design cover in the process. They went over the price of book with me. Do you have any advice? Like since I'm self publishing and I have retired at 62 , how will that effect my income taxes if you know, or anything you can tell me will be helpful on how to sell books in future orI think Christian Faith publishing help me sell the book, I believe in contract.

I can't decide on self publishing or traditional. I want to write children books but I'm retiring 62 in July and I don't want to be financially in debt. Could you give me any information that can help me. I going with faith christian publishing co. But they except my summary. They want me to send manuscript and my illustrations. I'm a first time .
