What do you think of Panasonic’s latest moves? Is there any camera/lens from the brand that you would like to see in the future?

You do such a masterful job of asking the right questions and showing the person being interviewed the utmost respect. Bravo 👏🏽

That’s interesting he specifically called out climbing mountains with MFT and telephoto lenses because I want them to continue to support MFT for that exact use case. It sounds like they’re already doing it, but they should really lean into the small lenses and even smaller camera bodies for MFT. That’s how you differentiate from full frame and really give people a reason to consider the platform.

Thanks for the interview !
He’s absolutely right about MFT and long lenses, I always keep in my FF kit a GH6 with 35-100mm
Can’t wait to see the future of Lumix

They definitely have their own way and their principles are strongly supported by market research. I recently switched from canon dslr to lumix and i am very happy. I am pretty sure people like other brands. Long live competition!

What I would like to see is a full frame successor to the EVA1 with an L mount and the auto focus capabilities of the S5IIX, so the S5IIX can be a B-Cam to the EVA1.

I can't believe that he wasn't asked when the GX9 II will be released!

Panasonic is the best at listening to the consumer

If I understand correctly, that was a clear commitment to MFT. Mr. Tsumura-san made me very happy with that. My GX80 is such an excellent and simply the optimal camera for everyday use and for taking on vacation, traveling and simply everywhere. I would really be very sad if MFT were to be discontinued. I love the Panasonic MFT system. I would so much like a GM5MKII and a GX9MKII and would buy both IMMEDIATELY if they were available! The GM and GX series are absolutely cult!!! I remember my cousin's wedding. There were 2 professional photographers in the church with all their FF camera equipment and I had my GM1 with the 20mm in my pocket and took a few snapshots. Later they asked me, you didn't have a camera with you, did you? What did you take these great photos with? I then showed them the GM1 ... Nobody could believe it!

I think LUMIX will put its strongest effort in the S1H Mark ii as their cinema beast. Consolidation looks like it’s happening so they can make a profit only on the profitable lines.

I feel like they don't care about making higher end cameras anymore. Where is the Sh2 or s1x? They need to annouce one of them before the summer. Without a crop in 4k.

What about an L-Mount to M43 Lens Adapter ? We Lumix lovers and users would appreciate it so much ( I own an s5II and a GH6) and I would like to use S Lenses on the GH6 or on the G9II in the future ..

Pretty disappointing to hear there’s no plans on a new cinema camera. I mean it’s been over 7 years since they released a cinema camera. Perhaps I set my expectations to high but I believe they just don’t see the value in them any more since Sony canon and red dominate the sub $10k camera market. Very disappointing from them and from Blackmagic.

But excellent interview CineD! Always asking the questions the people want to hear and never backing off. Cheers 🙏🏽

Recently switched from Sony to Lumix S5ii and S5iix … I am enjoying shooting using Lumix. Just ordered the 70-200 f2.8 Lumix lens and can’t wait to try that out.

Thanks for this interview
Two questions Ibwould have liked you ask:
What is the future of S1 series ?
Why only MFTS has Leica monochrome profile and not the S5 ii ?

i'd like a gh7s with three native iso's, ibis, phase, 14mp (minimum) and directional sound that amplifies the audio signal according to the direction and zoom level of the lens :D

This was super interesting to watch. It's nice to know where they stand and what's their vision for the future. I hope they announce something in their cinema lineup soon, because I've been waiting for a full frame successor for the EVA1. I love what they have done with the S5IIX but I don't like the mirrorless form factor so I want something that handles a bit better for shooting video. It surely seems like they are listening to their clients though, so I'm excited to see what the future brings for Panasonic.
