One of the worst things that happened and that shows how 'eat or be eaten' society can be is the way everyone does a 180 and uses the main character as a scape goat without taking any blame themself for helping to bully shoko. Perfect example of the bystander effect

I just watched this anime for a second time as of yesterday and I still cried.
The music, the visuals, everything in this was just really good.
It’s a good look at what anxiety and trauma can do to a person and how a little bit of kindness and hope can change us for the better.
We’ve all done things that we aren’t proud of. The past can haunt everyone. Giving up is easy, it’s choosing to make use of what you do afterwards that can help ease that pain.
Never give up even when it’s hard. Fight the pain, look at it, and accept it. Then try to help others because that’s also how you help yourself.

I've watched this movie 3 times total, once with my sister and twice by myself. No matter how many times I watch it, it's always great. I love how Shouko and Shouta interact in their teenage years, with Shouta being awkward because he still thinks about how he used to bully her and Shouko being caring and kind but still hurt from the bullying, which comes to the forefront later in the movie
