Hyundai i20 hatchback review - Carbuyer

Following an update in May 2012, it's hard to find fault with the Hyundai i20, as it beats rivals hands-down for the amount of equipment you get for the money. Prices for basic versions are low, while equipment is generous. Even entry-level models get air-con and electric windows. Running costs won't break the bank either, especially for the 1.1 CRDi Blue diesel, which returns 88mpg and is road-tax free. Rivals like the Ford Fiesta and VW Polo look expensive, plus the i20 has Hyundai's excellent five-year warranty.

I've got one as a courtesy car at the moment, it's actually really good. I'm 6 foot 3 and have plenty of space I find the ride comfortable and average 49.6mpg :)

Have had a rental car i20 3 door manual for the past 3 days. Hyundai have come a long way in the past few years. For the money the car is incredible value. $13k AUD. I like the fact that it has Bluetooth. The shifts are precise. With AC on you do have to take a double stab at the clutch sometimes when taking off. The seat belt is a reach, needs a holder. Door bins are a tad small. Seat needs lumbar. Plastic feel to the car, but good build quality. Back end feels slightly detached but solid cornering. Go manual. Good, reliable, fuel efficient no frills motoring at its best.

The 2014 Hyundai i20 is the best designed and most technologically advanced compact hatchback of 2014.

Hyundai auto technology is one of the most advanced in the world. For example, the Hyundai Equus, along with some BMW premium models, is the only car in the world to sport heads-up-displays.

Also Korean technology company Samsung is the biggest and most advanced technology company in the world (highest revenues and innovation index of all technology companies).

FORZA HYUNDAI MOTORS!

It's so funny watching Mat finally having to do a review on a small car - where usually nowadays he would be doing reviews on Land Rovers/Porsches etc. hahah xD

Personally, if a car is solidly built, has good reliability, safety, fuel efficiency, comfort etc, its dashboard would have to be made of tinned spaghetti and pickled arseholes for it to be a factor in me NOT buying a particular car. Having a "bland" dashboard layout would not bother me one little bit compared to a car that drove terribly, was overly expensive to service and run, or had bad ergonomics.

Thank God I reside next to the US! Our Canadian prices may be a little higher than the US but pale in comparison to what the rest of the world pays.

Good old citycar review by Matt! So nice :) Even if Rebecca isn't bad at all, Matt is such a good reviewer. ;) To be continued right?!

In VAG models similar type of interior styling is called conservative and ergonomic while in competition it's dull and boring.

Yes it is. Look it up yourself.
And you should do that since it is your idea.

Too bad that the seats aren't so comfortable.

In the words of Mat (on another review): "Oh little car, you were so close to being perfect."

The US is generally a more liberal country, therefore the taxes are much lower than other countries, which in turn results in cheaper products, including cars. In Denmark, where I live, the tax for buying a car is 180 % of the cars value, so everybody who complains about stuff being expensive, should just be referred to that.

I presume this is the same car as the Kia Rio, given that the 1.1 diesel claims 88 mpg

This is how they should have designed the Accent.

3:37 I very like how this interior looks.
But for the same money I can have Fiesta, 208, Clio or Corsa... and that's what I rather ride every day.

I just say it the way YouTube lists it. It's technically a region, but many just say country to avoid explanation and confusion.
