Here's my review of the NEW 2023 15" MacBook Air M2. It's the BEST laptop currently makes and will be one of the best selling ones.

My recommended spec is the base model with upgraded RAM to 16GB.

Just bought one yesterday, it is surprisingly good. I have 14” M1 Pro as well. The trackpad is very nice, screen is vivid and handles the Logic Pro and FCX just fine.❤

great video. I think the issue really was everyone wanted a bigger macbook but didn't need stuff like the promotion XDR display and the super powerful variant of the M2 chip. Hence the new Air being great for consumers who want a macbook for lighter typical tasks with a bigger screen but not paying for the "pro" features.

I got the 15in with 1TB & 16gb memory at education pricing thanks to my wife being in college and Apple also threw in a $150 gift card. I'm a software dev and do some minor editing for Youtube and TikToks and this device is PERFECT for it!! And this thing is so aesthetically pleasing to look at in this midnight color but still a fingerprint magnet as expected. But this device is perfect and no need to spend the extra money on a Pro.

Thank you for one of the very few sensible videos about the new air. Most other YouTubers are like "if all you do is browsing the web and watching YouTube videos all day than it's a good choice. Otherwise, just spend the extra money on the pro". And I hate that they're saying this because it's completely untrue. The M2 is powerful as f*ck, you can get A LOT of work done on it. For most PROFESSIONALS, the air is a FANTASTIC choice. The pro is for a very small niche of people who need to do crazy stuff, connect to multiple displays at the same time, edit like multiple 8k videos at the same time or whatever. For most, it's not worth the extra bulk and cost at all.

The 14 is great BUT I think for someone who would need a productivity mac laptop, the 15 inch would win. Bigger screen, similar speakers, larger keyboard deck / touchpad, and better portability as a workstation. It’s better for most people.

Great advice for the average buyer. Get 13 or 15-inches Air based on personal preference but do not necessarily listen to all the comments that tell you to buy a refurb 14-inch, if indeed you are able to find one. The performance is negligible for the average user and even the base 8GB would be enough for the majority. In the UK and US we can already get £120 off the new 15-inch so is significantly cheaper than a new MB Pro 14. To be precise £730 cheaper even with a discounted 14-inch. If you are talking new versus refurb then that is not an equitable comparison; wait a few months for refurb -v- refurb, and that difference will be maintained.

There is good reason why the Airs outsell the Pros many fold, as they represent much better value and unless you have a pro workflow that needs more RAM, then the base Airs are a bargain and the best choice.

Can you do a video on which version of the 15 inch MacBook Air M2 chip would be the best for college students in terms of your options for ram and storage or is it just fine to get the base model?

Bought a 32gb 16” MacBook Pro last year and it’s fantastic. But it’s damned heavy to lug around. Just bought 16gb with 512gb hd for portability use and for more part time employee. Really impressed with it. Kind of prefer it to my pro in many ways.

Nice review. I’ve yet to unbox my base model in silver. It’s the first laptop I’ve ever had. I’m an iMac user and never owned an Apple laptop. I have an iPhone, 2 iPads, an iPod and I’m fully into the Apple ecosystem, but as mentioned, never worked on a laptop. (When I say “work” I mean edit photos and videos on a laptop.)

I decided to jump the gun and buy the MacBook Air 15 inch but with 24GB RAM and leave the 256GB SSD since I have an 5TB external hard drive and seems people worry too much on storage due to only 1 chip which I get but after seeing so many videos and YouTubers doing “benchmarks” cause I don’t think I’ll see any difference in the SSD and I’m sure it can run very well with a lot of applications and especially having a gaming monitor so I don’t need a Pro MacBook, yes people will say I should have gone with the Pro but people underestimate how good the M2 Air is and it’s portability, I’d say if you love the M2 Air, go for It, just make sure to get more RAM whether it’s 16 or 24GB rather than storage
