I like to think that Shepherd is still in there, in that chopper, sitting there on the seat which is in the same position as the one on which his journey through black mesa began. Only he's by himself, abducted by this strange man wearing a suit and holding a briefcase of unknown contents. Headed towards what seems like a black abyss of nothing, all alone, with no one to accompany him, not even that man in the suit, with the only thing him being able to do is just sit there, waiting for who knows what or how long. Everyone seemingly having forgotten about him, like he just disappeared off the planet, not being able to contact anyone.
