The down side of booking a ULCC such as Flair, Lynx, Or Swoop is that they don't have the frequency that the major airlines have. For example, if you booked Flair from YYZ-CUN, if they cancel your flight they might not have another flight for multiple days. Leaving you stuck missing out on your vacation. Whereas on WS or AC if your YYZ-CUN flight get canceled they will either put you on another flight leaving the same day, or could possibly connect you through another city on a codeshare. There's a lot of downsides to ULCCs, I would only recommend them as a last resort.

thanks....heading for EUROPE this summer...to PARIS....checked out some ""low cost/budget"" ones must cheaper then regular if you fly out of ""not regular"" locations
and checked also budget hotels in PARIS...and of course once get there then transportation cheap by train/etc

This is so useful thank you! My travel tip is eat healthy food before flying to build up your immunity. Drink orange juice (vitamin c) when offered on flights instead of coffee.
