It certainly looks like a brand new 100, 000+ stadium for Manchester United is the leading choice for INEOS right now but how will it be funded? This video covers an important discussion point around that.

United are probably the only club in England that could fill a 100, 000 all seater stadium week after week . I hope it happens

Sam it's actually a very simple decision based on what one's priority is.
1. Successful and flourishing future of Manchester United..OR
2. Revelling in the nostalgia of what was.

We either move into the future and keep the memories of past in our hearts or spend 1B to keep the nostalgia alive and find ourselves at this same spot in 10-15 years with the stadium and infra having fallen behind the competition.

Seems like an easy choice if you keep your feelings aside for a minute.

This is the best news ever. I began going to OT in 1963 and have slept outside in order to get tickets, I’ve turned up with a Casio calculator instead of my season ticket and I’ve met the late Matt Busby and Mark Hughes on the forecourt. For over 60 years it has played a huge part in my life and, at 72, I just hope I get to see a game in the new stadium. If the plan includes the continuation of football on the original pitch, even better. Nostalgia is a luxury only the young can afford, I just want to see United get bigger and better - always.

Memories stay and new memories to come in new stadium

To pay homage, the new stadium should resemble Old Trafford and it better incorporate existing elements like the iconic lettering on the front of the South Stand and the Munich Clock.

There is nothing left, other than the old Players' Tunnel, of the ground that I first stood in back in 1969. That's been he case for a long time now. Build a new place next door, bigger and better than citeh's blue carbuncle near United's old ground in Clayton.

We need to take the best from Sofi, Barcelonas and Real Madrids stadiums aswell as looking into how City are doing there best to entertain fans match days. Having hotels, shops restaurants all owned by United would bring in money. Exciting times and Jim doesn't mess around he will want to see this built.

One of the reasons So-Fi cost so much is because it is on the flightpath of LAX airport and there were height restrictions; half of So-Fi is underground. Stan Kroenke bought the land where the Hollywood Park Horse Racing Track was based, which is why the surrounding land to So-Fi is so vast. They have also just finished the $2 Billion Intuit Dome basketball arena for the Clippers which is adjacent to the Hollywood Park site so parking infrastructure can be shared.

I do think building a new stadium is better for the long term. I also think there will be elements of Old Trafford being built into the new stadium. What's good is that while the new stadium is being built on the land surrounding Old Trafford that is already owned by United we'll be able to continue to play at Old Trafford.

As an architect, I don’t like the idea of the external facade and the roofing structure. It’s rigid and dull aesthetically.I like the idea of the 100, 000 seater studying but the architects involved should put some work on the external facade and rooting structure borrowing from Santiago bernabu

It might cost 2 billion to build, but imagine how much money they will get back for each game, it will literally millions in just gate receipts for home games

Get real! Old Trafford’s gone but not forgotten. The new stadium will be adjacent to the old one. Selling housing plots around there would bring in a small fortune. Then there’s the stadium revenue that will be not only be a sports stadium but also a magnificent leisure and retail space. That finance is easy Peasy with the projected income that stadium will generate.

Has to be a new stadium but if it is built in the same area as OT then to me it will still be the same on match day. Fans will still go to the same pubs and places to eat before the game, walk down Sir Matt Busby Way etc....

I know this is not about the Glazers. But I can't help wonder at how inept and shamefully insensitive the Glazers have been to the decay/decadence at Old Trafford -spanning nearly two decades!
Sir Jim makes them look terrible in less than a year (6 mths) of being in charge (just 25% stake).

old Trafford gave us great memories give only ever been there once but it was the most special place for me as a united fan but changing stadiums doesn't change anything united but we must realize the fans of united are the ones who make old Trafford better too where ever we go us fans are the essence of old Trafford and united.
