Determine the strength and efficiency of joint | Joints In Steel Structure | Numerical Problem #1

Hello guys in this video I've solved two numerical problem from joints in steel structure chapter.

Here the questions are:
1. A 16 mm thick plates joint by double cover butt joint using 10 mm thick cover plate. The permissible tensile strength of plate is 150 Mpa. Determine the strength and efficiency of the joint per pitch of 9 cm. If 20 mm diameter power driven shop rivets are used.

2. Two plates of 16 mm thick are joint by double riveted lap joint. The pitch of the rivet is 9 cm. The rivets are 25 mm in diameter.
If Fc = 1400 kg/cm2
Fs = 1100 kg/cm2
Fb = 2400 kg/cm2
Determine the strength and efficiency of joint.
