This made me so hopeful. Art and writing... I've always seen writers portrayed as tortured, never self assured in their work. And I deal with a lot of doubt, a lot of loathing of myself/my work. And I thought somewhere in the back of my mind that it would always be like that. I would hate everything I created by the end of it, but this makes me hopeful that it doesn't have to be. That eventually I'll move past, learn to write for myself without that nagging in my head. I... Just thank you, I guess.

Congratulations with finishing the books. I can relate with that feeling `high` moments during a first draft and not having to feel them again because of edits and revisions.

Rereading books can definitely be productive. I've only done it once so far, but there was so much more I got from it the second time through.

I was finishing my first draft when you posted this ! First book. I did editing throughout the process. Since it’s my first - I’m thinking of just moving onto the next story now so I can create more and get more practice under my belt!! Then very possibly go back to truly edit. Best wishes 📚

I never even thought I needed this but I did. I hadn't even noticed I've forgotten to write for myself. But now that you stated it, I realized it counts for me as well. When I started writing, I just wrote because it was fun but now I tend to think if I'm writing this well, if it looks good, are my characters too much this or too much that, is this description boring or too flowery... I just should write! Write in a way that feels right and then worry about it later when I edit. First I just need to learn to do like you and be selfish with my writing. Thank you for this :) I'm happy for you for finishing your book!
