Last year I moved to Colombia to study Spanish. Everyone there seemed to think I was latino.. And when my friend Mohammed came to visit, they thought the same thing about him. That brings me onto this video: 'Arabs vs Latinos - Can they tell each other apart?'. We presented candidates with 2 pictures each time, of which one person is Arab and the other Latino, and they had to guess which person belonged to what ethnicity. Enjoy!

Both arabs and Latinos aren't a spefic race, as they both range from fair to dark.

It’s because Latinos are not a race and they look like so many different ethnicities. I’m Mexican and my family looks middle eastern and Mediterranean

There is nothing like arab or latino ethnicities. You can find a black arab or latino as well as blond arab or latino or some shades in the middle. "Latino" and "Arab" refer to culture and common language.

A lot of Latinos don’t realize there’s an Arab influence in our genes, culture and language. The moors or berbers ruled Spain before the Christians for a few centuries. This is why we have similar words in both languages and this is why, especially for Puerto Rican’s like myself, many of us have Arab names were unaware are. For example, Maida, Medina, Ayala, Ismael.

I’ve always been mistaken for Arabic or some other type of Asian. I take it as a complement, they’re beautiful people.

Me and my family are Dominican and we recently went to Egypt to visit and were shocked to see how we look so much alike. Everyone spoke to us in Arabic and smiled at us, and many were shocked to hear we were not Egyptian. I told them they looked like they were Dominican 🇩🇴 but many had never even heard of my country 😂😂😂. Great video, God bless 🙏

I’m from the Dominican Republic and every time I come to the USA they pull me to the little room on the side at the airport, it’s scary. Arabs know what I’m talking about.

I am Mexican American and when I went to Morocco everyone thought I was Moroccan I swear I blended in! I always get confused for being Arab!

This is why race is a social construct we all have more similarities than differences.

This was funny. Sometimes people think I am Arab or Persian, but I’m Latina (from Mexico). At an Iraqi restaurant, the owner told me he thought I was Arab until I started speaking Spanish lol 😊
