These are called high point marks. They are used just as shown. Most tire manufacturers do this. There are uniformity machines that balance and grind the tires as they move through the finishing process. Yes, I work for Goodyear.

How are you liking the G3s. The EXO grapplers I have on my F350 are doing the funky chicken. I've had Nittos come apart on the inside I have a feeling the EXOs are doing the same. A little gun shy of even getting involved with Nitto tires again or Toyo.

That’s how it’s supposed to be line up for with valve stem and most the time balances out or need very little weight most garages don’t don’t it bc they don’t care

I bought my truck with mixed tires—two Nitto Ridge Grapplers on the front with 50% tread left and two Nitto Terra Grapplers on the rear, one of which is new. I’m thinking about buying three new Nitto Terra Grapplers, but I like the look of the Ridge Grapplers more. Any advice?

I used to line those up and everyone would give me crap for it. I used less weights then they did

Should really be using a finger plate to balance these wheels. The wheel is not centred by the centre hole but rather by the wheel stud holes.
