I handed the papers to a guy who had received a ticket from the same cop on my way out. I don't know what happened with him.

My cops ALWAYS showed up to court in Connecticut and NEW YORK. And there were a few... However, I ALWAYS managed to get it reduced...

Cops usually have 1 day that they are in court, so if you reschedule for a different day of the week, you have a much greater chance of them not showing.

Here in NC depends on the docket...
If the officer doesnt show, depends on the charges if its reassigned or dismissed.

You can talk to the DA, get the charges reduced or dismissed. But just bc the officer doesn't show doesnt = dismissal

play the rest of the video. I've seen one similar to this where they suggest rescheduling to a different date. Since cops tend to schedule most of their tickets on the same day, it raises the chance that they will miss the rescheduled appointment.

Definitely fight the ticket and hope for a no show.
In CA, they make you pay for the ticket before you fight it. I had a $500 right on red without a complete stop. Chp didn’t show and they refunded me in a few weeks. Stoked!

In CA, they don't show up if they're off the clock. So the said trick is to find out what days are the ticketing officers days off and schedule your court date for one of those days.

Florida resident here. Husband works for FHP. He is required to go to court. Even on his days off. It's usually by video though and accident cases (which is all he does) get thrown out constantly because the witness didn't show up. Speeding tickets are hard to get out of since it's on the radar and yes they get calibrated regularly. Other tickets, yes the trooper will be there but most of the time a ticket will get thrown out if it's something small and the person doesn't have a record of getting the same kind of tickets.

Cops in Cali are indeed different. Chronically understaffed, and too busy chasing the serial killer the judge let out on $100 bond to worry about tickets.

That and the cops dont keep the ticket money, so they dont care.

Correct in Cali just plan around large events. Virginia, yeah, not as crazy as California. Way more people and not enough cops.
