You know what would make me re-gain some respect for Peterson? If he manned up and admitted when he was wrong. I've seen so many videos of Sam Harris absolutely dismantling Peterson's argument and yet all Peterson does is keep digging deeper. A true intellectual would concede their point when presented with a superior argument.

Some facts:
Democracy comes from Greece.
Word democracy comes from greek words "demos" and "kratos".
Greeks weren't christians, so its a mistake from christians to claim that they have enabled in some way democracy. Its just not true.

I'm not even gonna credit SH intellect with this one. When JP has a camera in front of him, and is allowed to just spout on uninterrupted, he's good at making people believe he's smarter than he is.
When JP has to engage someone in public conversation, it often doesn't go well for him, because he can't help but make grandiose but demonstrably false sweeping statements that don't comport to reality at all.

I don't think the accusation sticks.

Seems to me like Jordan isn't saying that democracy and human rights and such couldn't have come about any other way, or that it necessarily makes religion 'good'. I think it's more that these things merely happen to have come about because of religion in this instance, therefore we should be very cautious of trying to dismantle religion, as it's what our most fundamental core values happen to be built upon.
