Best Fishing Lure Colors for Redfish

What is the best lure color for redfish is a question I am asked quite often. While there are many opinions on this subject, I show what have been the best and most productive colors for me. I have over 25 years experience targeting redfish in Mosquito Lagoon and the Indian River Lagoon system in Florida, including over 10 years doing guided fishing charters.

Shown in this video are chartreuse, figi chix, white, bloodworm, watermelon holographic, arkansas glow, gold rush glow, gold rush, and golden bream. This is in no way a statement of all the colors that work, these are the best colors for me and my cleints when fishing for redfish.

Flats fishing charters in Mosquito Lagoon, Florida for redfish, drum, trout, tarpon.

Good stuff, Chris and thanks. Thanks for the color tips but more importantly for dispelling the myth that color is the most important decision. Much appreciated, Sir.

Hey Chris, I'm heading to mosquito lagoon tomorrow with a ton of 5" and 4" handpoured paddletails I made today while it was raining. I made a few with chartreuse tail, some with a lot of copper flake in a clear belly with chart, blue, dark green, silver, tops. I'm glad I found this video to help me tomorrow. Edit, I have some that are extremely close to the dark brim at the top left. I fond it helps a bunch in dark water and dark bottoms.

The best color is what you can see the best for the type day you are fishing and you have the most confidence in.

many lures are meant to catch fishermen, not fish

Do you fish with drew cavanaugh? It seems like this because you guys both do the same stuff at the same place.

Those are the only colors I use. Plus the stark naked.
