The must-have features for externally mounted products are theft-resistance and vandalism-resistance. It looks like this security camera lacks those features. Perhaps if it were mounted on the roof, where it would be hard to reach?

The angle for your solar panel - you want to go a little lower than the "average" altitude of the sun - you want to bias toward the winter months when there are fewer hours of daylight and the sun is lower in the sky. If you can cover the winter months, then the longer summer days will have no problem charging the battery.

Good, thorough video. I’ve been looking a new home security camera system. I’m leaning towards Ring because they offer them in a black housing and NO subscription fees. In my opinion black is a lot less noticeable. I’m surprised cam companies don’t offer a variety of basic colors for esthetics. Along with white and black, maybe a tan, or charcoal gray housing.

Eufy is legendary for their weak security and the forced subscription service. Not what I would choose.

Funny I just put up 2 of these same cameras today. Disappointed over the Eufy floodlight camera. The detection only works in the direction the camera is facing. The floodlight camera has the sensor on the body of the unit so it can detect motion even when the camera is pointing in another direction.

I bought that camera and unfortunately for me, the solar panel can't charge the camera all the way up to 100% ending in a -6 % battery loss daily! It's mainly because the camera is placed facing a mid busy street, so it activates quite constantly. BUT! I will connect the camera to an electricy outlet using a USB cable because I really like the quality and audio of the video clips..😊

Solar panels get beat up by the weather, making less efficient each year. $340 for each camera can get expensive when you want to have surveillance all around the home. I have rechargeable cameras for 4 years and I only recharge them ever 3-5 months at 1/3 the cost.

I had some security cameras and they need unrestricted access to my home router, and used a data storage server run by China. Not good.

one thing he shouldve mentioned is that it doesnt do 24/7 recording. none of Eufee's solar or battery powered cameras can record 24/7 they only record up to 2 minute clips if someone is detected. in order to get 24/7 recording you have to buy a wired device and a Homebase.
