I had one job that they pushed the bottom of a metal door for acess. Once inside, they opened the door to get the loot out. Tenant was home at night and heard nothing. They had a duplex, entry was on the lower level. Perpetrator obviously used the oposing wall for leverage. This device looks like a good solution. When I move into my new home I'll prefer two per door, one high another low. I've seen how these loosers work the baby screws always fail. One lock I put 3 inch screws, they kicked so hard and obviously a long time the 3 inch screws and surrounding wood failed.

I have 3 of those in my front door frame. I have a brand new knob from schlage to replace an old crappy one I had. Got a reinforced strikeplate for the kob that's about 3x the length, replaced all the door hinge screws with 3 inch wood screws, and even use a stick one of those security bars under the door knob. Why? Because the more obstacles you give the bad guy the more likely it is he will give up. I have all the windows double blocked too with wedges and sticky things that make it impossible to push em up from the outside. Got cameras all around the house. Blackout curtains all around the house. I don't even live in a bad neighborhood or bad country. I live in the middle of nowhere but you know that one bad guy shows up in the middle of nowhere the cops aint showing up for 30 minutes and if he can't get in then I don't have to shoot him and get arrested!

Will probably need to replace your short screws that hold the hinges for the doors in your house. Those are really short too.

Is the glass next to the door some kind of super impervious unbreakable glass?

Use the correct size vix bit instead of the center punch. Fit the chamfer on the hinge hole a the proper size pilot hole.

I just saw a ring doorbell video of a guy impersonating a maintenance worker to change hvac filter. The person lied saying they weren't home to come back another time. Well they proceeded to trying kicking the door in at an apartment complex. They had handguns and as the door broke in the victim fired 13 shots at them in 3 seconds. They ran off.

I have a front and back door that its sode light is a mini french door.. i need to add for my toddlers but im unsure what the door is made of for sure not wood metal outside forsure.. the kids magnets stick to it.. lol...and mostly that it wont ruin it and or break through the glass area.. so i dont have a door frame to attach it too.. its door to mini door.. any advice ?

But, you do not have to drill deep. Just enough to start the screw. I never, ever drill the depth of the screw, The power drill will do the rest.
