When it comes to my relationship to Korean Street Toast, it was love at first sight. I don’t remember if the request I saw was in a tweet, or a video comment, but as soon as I read the words “Korean Street Toast,” I knew we were going to be together forever. Enjoy!

I remember as a kid in korea eating this every winter, almost everyday on the street. On my way back from school. And sometimes I didn't have money and the lady who makes it would give it to me for free because she didn't want to see me hungry. Warm cozy memory of winter.

what i love about about chef john is how he varies his recipes, he doesnt exclusively cook american/italian food with a sprinkle of cayenne, he actually reseaches and features other kinds of cuisine. I remember when he posted paraguayan flatbread (mbeju) from my home country i felt so validated and seen, i never saw my fav youtubers ever mention my country, and now with this korean recipe is so nice to see how much he recommends and loves it

Wow I've been watching Chef John for over 10 years but never thought I'd see my childhood Korean Street toast recipe from his channel. 🤣🇰🇷🔥💯

Hands-down, the strangest sandwich I have ever made and probably the most delicious! Yes, the sugar is essential.

Chef John, since traveling abroad now is limited due to Covid, please do more of these videos. Street food is so underrated!! Please take us around the world and show us how to recreate dishes some of us would probably never get the opportunity to taste. Thank you.

"which is fine, I have an expense account"
Not sure why this cracked me up so much

I sincerely love how Chef John assumes that some people who are watching need some very basic instructions, like how to julienne vegetables, without rubbing in the fact that he's teaching us. 💖

I have created a monster. I made this for my girlfriend Tuesday, she made them for her mother and daughter on Wednesday, and we had them for breakfast today. But instead of ham I used applewood smoked bacon. Because after all, I am the Donny Most of my Korean Street toast.

Delicious!!!! I made this for lunch! I asked my husband if he wanted one, he looked at the ingredients and said "no". When it was ready, I had him try a bite, well.... lo and behold, he wouldn't give me back my sandwich. He loved it!!! crazy ingredient, but it works!!!

I made this and all of the flavors blending together was beyond amazing, this should be sold in America in restaurants, around the world even. Thank you so much for sharing this!

I found out about this through Maangchii's recipe and kinda remixed it by adding bacon and tonkatsu sauce, making it into a sort of okonomiyaki street toast. It was one of the most delicious things I'd ever eaten in my life.

Since I am extra broke this year, I have been on the lookout for something that is different, cheap, and easy to get ingredients for. This fits the bill perfectly, definitely going to try it!

My mom used to make it for me and my brother when we were little .. I didn’t know these were korean street toasts because we had immigrated to the states when my brother and I were still young and didn’t have the chance to eat them in Korea. I remember them being so delicious! Now I live in Korea by myself but it’s quite hard to find them here .. and my mom passed some time ago so thank you so much for the recipe! I will try them soon.

I made this and it was delicious. I made it for myself because I wasn't sure that my husband would like it, so after it was assembled, I gave him a bite and he really enjoyed it. The last time I made this, I used sliced turkey and it was great also. I watched several other people make Korean Street toast and they followed their own favorite additions and/or subtractions.
