I don’t know if Schurter tricked Marotte into taking the lead on the final climb, or not. Probably not. I think the riders all felt like you couldn’t pass before the finish line. But it turned out to be possible.

This is a prime example of efficient power delivery. You can put out a lot more power rocking the bike but you also have to cover significantly more ground. Keeping the bike in a straight line and delivering 70% of your max power tends to get you further faster.

God I miss Rob Warner! It sucks so much that the UCI took something that gave so many so much pleasure and something to look forward to away. I feel so angry that I kind of hope the World Cup falls flat on it's face. We all had only love in our hearts and just wanted the sport to grow, and now...
