You can be sure that there will now be a few race mechanics carefully checking the integrity of the bottom brackets on the bikes they are responsible for as a result of this weird incident.

That is why my Stumpjumper Evo Comp is alloy, I have the best stuff on that frame, like XX1 Gold groupeset, Industry nine wheels, Fox 36...feels like a tank but I don't have to baby the frame, I just use it and abuse it 😂

I prevent similar issue by finding crack on 71000 km frame in the middle of the ride because squeaking and bike can't accept full power. Lucky i was on Titanium. Just finished that commute very carefully.

Too much hunger for lightweight. Bottom bracket mounting is compromised.
