Have you ever wondered what the reddish brown discolorations on Lychee Trees and the distorted bumps on the leaves were?

In this video, you will see these discolorations on Lychee trees and learn if they affect the tree health at all. These discolorations or distorted growths are caused by a tiny microscopic mite called “Erinose Mites”.

The erinose mite are so tiny, they can only be seen with a microscope.
The damage is however distinct and extensive. Leaves become curled and distorted with what is referred to as a velvety brown appearance.

And the damage resembles some small wart like swellings.

Thankyou for the video. I have been trying to find what those mites are called they are infecting a couple leafs on my young my Hac-Ip Lychee.

The mites can be controlled, but never eliminated. They infect young leaves, and eventually the fruit. The more you water, the more fruit, the more mites. If you never water, you don't get fruit, you have minimal mites.
