An introduction to Minor and Major 3rds.

Also, the difference between melodic and harmonic intervals, as well as between "minor" sounds and "major" sounds.

In these videos, I'll talk about what each interval sounds like and provide song references for you to remember each interval by. They are listed below:

Minor 3rd (ascending) -- "O Canada"
-- "Smoke On The Water" (riff)

Minor 3rd (descending) -- "Star Spangled Banner"
-- "Hey Jude"

Major 3rd (ascending) -- "When The Saints Go Marching In"
-- "Kumbaya"

Major 3rd (descending) -- "Summertime"
-- "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot"

I watched another video but yours is far better taught, and you don't miss steps and assume we know what you skipped. Thanks !

Your channel is gold man. Love your teaching style. My hunt for a channel that can teach me what I need without wasting my time with unnecessary examples and rambling is over. Clear explanations and shots, just the right length, good vibes, balanced perfectly. Thanks!

Josh, you are a nature educator! This was a perfect explanation of something I learned eons ago but am just now brushing up on so many years later... theory (modes, scales, etc.) on guitar. I will subscribe, dig into your other videos and hope that you continue to offer great things ( I hope that's not too much pressure :) Keep up the great work and thank you for sharing. By the way, I also have a grand piano and a new 88 weighted keyboard that all of this will translate to as well. Thanks again!
