When Hearing God Seems IMPOSSIBLE (How to Listen)

There are four main voices we hear:
1. Our voice
2. God’s voice
3. Devil’s voice
4. People’s voice

“It’s the nature of God to speak.” AW Tozer

1. God can speak even when we aren't listening or are resisting, but that's not the ideal way to hear Him. (Acts 22v6-8; Numbers 22v27-31)
2. We must be filled with His word to hear His voice. (Matthew 4v4)
3. We must get near Him to hear Him. (John 10v27)
4. We must lower the noise to hear His voice. (Revelation 2v7)
Solitude helps us to hear the voice of God. (Exodus 3v1-6)
5. We must be in the Spirit to hear God’s voice. (Revelation 1v10)
6. It's hard to hear God's voice when you've already decided what you want him to say.
7. Obedience to the known will of God helps us to hear God’s voice. (Matthew 3v13-17)
8. When God is silent, seek Him more earnestly. (Jeremiah 29v13; James 1v2-4; Isaiah 59v2).
9. God speaks in 5 main ways.
👉 Creation: God’s voice can be heard through the beauty and order of nature.
👉 Wise Counsel: God speaks through the wisdom of godly people around us.
👉 Dreams and Visions: God sometimes communicates through supernatural dreams and visions.
👉 Conscience: God guides us by speaking through the convictions of our conscience.
👉 Peace: God’s direction is often confirmed by a deep sense of peace in our hearts.

3) we must get near to God to hear God. God whispers because he expects us to be near.
4) we must lower the noise to hear. Solitude is spiritual. Silence is physical.
5) Must be in the spirit to hear. Best way is in prayer. 6) Get to “ it’s natural to hear. You can’t have preconceived ideas. Just hear him.
7) Do what God already told you to do. We won’t always like the answer. Honor him or he stops speaking.
8) when God is silent seek more earnestly.
9) Decern how God speaks. Creation/nature, wise consult, dreams visions, prophecy, audible, angels etc. be open. Focus on him.
Be led by Holy Spirit. ❤

Hi pastor Vlad! Fairly new Christian here. I’ve been struggling with hearing God and the other day I prayed and asked Him “Please Lord, I want to hear your voice. Please speak to me.” Well, Yesterday I was driving down the interstate (speeding, as usual) out of the blue, I heard The Holy Spirit tell me “slow down. Respect authority. It teaches patience and builds your character.” And believe me, I speed no matter where I drive! Always. I drive for a living so I’m always anxious (and impatient) to get to my destination! I didn’t really ‘hear’ the voice as much as I felt it. So, I obey and don’t speed anymore!! I’m sure He saved my life or someone else’s life!! He’s ALWAYS looking out for me! ❤️

Sometimes I feel like God speaks to me through gospel songs. Like all of a sudden a song will pop in my head. I immediately play the song and feel like He is trying to tell me something nurturing, or reminding me of His love, or not to worry…. It’s beautiful. To me, it’s beautiful. I always say “ok Lord, I hear ya! Thank you!”

I am so afraid of fake pastors now, they are falling one after the other. I pray God keeps you and you cherish your purity and loyalty to God and your wife because this is definitely coming through even in your eyes. They are soft and filled with purity and love. Not with mirth and malice. The eyes will very often communicate what’s in a human‘s heart. Yours communicate purity and loyalty.
