A long-negotiated prisoner swap between the U.S. and Iran moved forward Monday, with a five-for-five prisoner swap and Iran gaining access to $6 billion in frozen funds. The Biden administration says it will monitor the money to ensure it is only spent on humanitarian efforts, but critics say the deal will only incentivize more hostage taking from nations hostile to the U.S. "Face the Nation" moderator and chief foreign affairs correspondent Margaret Brennan reports from Washington.

I think this may be the first time we’ve publicly been made aware of a cash transfer for prisoners in recent history.

I live in Iran, life in this country is very difficult due to high inflation, prices are increasing day by day, and the most important factor that causes the price increase is the American oil embargo against the oppressed and sad people of Iran. Americans, your sanctions put pressure on the people, not the leaders of Iran

If the US oil sanctions are lifted, Iran will become one of the cheap and good countries in the world. Because of Iran's large oil and resources, you should know that Iran is ranked among the top 5 oil assets in the world.

They are not Americans, they are Iranians who may happen to be living in the United States.

Looks like most of us missed reading and comprehension when we attended school, the White House clearly stated what this was, but still we are seeing comments like, ransom, cash payment, paying cash for prisoners.

Why the hell are we celebrating this? All these prisoners deserved their fate for being idiots by being anywhere close to that country.

Two HVAs were not "wrongfully detained" and three got lucky to be included in the swap? 🤔

Pretty much the prevailing opinion seems to be, if you're an American, just stay out of Iran. These people were foolish going there to begin with!

The three dudes they’re showing look straight up Iranian. The other two don’t want their identity released.

"Trumped up charges of espionage" yet some names are not being disclosed.
I guess the charges are not so "trumped up".
