In this video, I demonstrate the difference between RMS and peak (vs peak-peak) voltage when calculating output power of an amplifier. This was to answer I question once as to why I don't use the RMS voltage value on the oscilloscope ... I use both.

RMS for a given p-p is that p-p * sqrt(2) aka root mean square. For 3 phase power, phase-phase*sqrt(3) is the reflective peak voltage. That’s why I’m American household you have 120v and 208v for 3&4 wire equipment respectively
