WHAT THE HECK DID CHERY DO TO THE ENGINE OF THE NEW TIGGO 8 PRO MAX??

The 2024 Chery Tiggo 8 Pro Max has JUST LANDED in Australia, and features 7-seats for heavy-duty family use at a VERY compelling price. It’s also is remarkably different from the 5-seat Chery Tiggo 7 Pro despite sharing similar underpinnings. Today we’re going to go on a comprehensive tour of the Tiggo 7 Pro Max, including checking out the exterior, talking price and specs, looking at the (almost) luxury interior, launching it and seeing it’s 0-100km/h time, and of course giving it LOTS of sauce on the road!

So should you buy the new Chery Tiggo 8 Pro Max? Let’s talk about that in today’s review!

Here at CarSauce, we review every new car on the market. We are a community of sauce givers and we'd love for you to subscribe and join our community!

We give every car "the sauce", test their 0-100km/h, and see whether or not they are worth purchasing and spending your hard-earned cash on.

From time to time, we'll also buy a weird and wacky car and take you on the journey with me! We release videos every Sunday 5pm AEST / AEDT with the latest new car reviews!

Your feedback is important, so if you want to see us do something new or something you would like me to change let me know! Got a question for me? Leave it in the comments! I try and respond to them all!

This car has been in South Africa for a while now. Prefacelift and now this facelift. My friends bought one immediately after test driving it. They couldn't believe they could get a car of this value with this much tech and, style, comfort, quality and general size and space for half the price of German competition. We recently took the car on a 3400 km trip to the coast and back and it was faultless. The interior noise is so well controlled and it is so smooth. And its overtaking ability is astonishing. I had a GLB 220d and it is double the price of this Chery. I can genuinely say the Chery has better build and material quality than the GLB. The GLB uses more cheap plastics and doesn't feel as solid actually and it didn't even have all the features the Chery had. I was really blown away. Love this car.

We have this in the Philippines, and they've proven to be very popular. I test drove one and was really shocked about how good it was. A couple of my friends own them, and they love them.

I like this car. It's fast, it's comfy, it's cheap, it has insanely good warranty. It's a car that can fly under the radar while still look good doing so. The interior is absolutely beautiful too. I'd buy it if it came to my country. Good review, bring back dzaddzy jacob!.

I am not surprised that governments in Europe are trying so hard to prevent this brand to enter the market! For 30/35K euros a car with these specs and quality would DESTROY the market. I have seen this car in one of my latest trips in central America and I was so impressed. This car is amazing! For that price, I would buy one today if I could.

Great review. I have a feeling the Tiggo 8 NVH refinement is better than the Kia/Hyundai.

The headrests can also pop out airplane style. They pinch inwards to hold your head. Also, perhaps check on that info about the cooled seats. The one I drove has cooling in the back rest too. I could feel it. Perhaps they changed it for Australia but I can't see why they would.

The footage in this video looks good! Your other videos were quite over exposed with some details blown out, but this looks nice and punchy with deep blacks without looking over exposed. Keep up the good work 🙂 Love the vids.

In SA they sell the Chery with a Million kilometer or 10 year engine warranty to the first owner…

How does this compare to the Tank 500?

I drive the 1.6T of this model and I am very impressed by its tech features, ride comfort interior and power. Driving has never been delightful until I got one of these! 👌

Hey Matt. Great review as always. Definitely a nice car. Mostly recently you’ve made a review on Chery Tiggo 7 relating fuel consumption etc etc and my name even was mentioned. Thank you for that also. I’d like you to do a research or even ask Chery about spare parts. My Tiggo 7 has been vandalised and my windscreen been damaged and I have been waiting nearly 2 months to get it fixed. Insurance tell me is the repairer, the repair says it’s Cherry and now I fell like a ping pong ball. When I purchased the car my fist question was related to spare parts and what I was told Chery had the parts available in Australia. Would be nice if you put this concern out there because it seems like they are only interested in “just the sale” and bugger all. Regards

Comparatively this top range model is cheaper in Australia than in South Africa...

I own the prefacelift version here in Indonesia, and I totally love this 2.0l Tiggo 8 Pro FWD. already run 10k km without any problem whatsoever, love the transmission, pretty reliable for a long drive. this facelifted version looks great with that AWD, Cooling seat, interior color and new display. tempting

As long as I know what the reliability is like I will consider buying it.

4:31 - over 470l? I’m assuming that’s from the boot floor to the retractable cover? In South Africa, they advertise the boot space (with the 3rd row down) as being 892l in size. I can only assume that is from the boot floor to the roof, then?
