Danielle's mom has had the same Dodge Durango 2002 for 12 years, and she will not let it go. It has 200k miles, only goes about 50 miles an hour, has 4 broken windows, and duct tape all over it. It’s basically a death trap on wheels! Danielle's dad offered to buy her a new car but she says she’s not getting rid of "her baby."

How can Danielle convince her mom to buy a new car?

If she is so embarrassed about driving her mom's Durango, why doesn't she get herself her own car or buy her mom a new one? The sensible thing would be to replace the windows and get the engine fixed, it is way cheaper than a new car. I drive a 1997 Chevy Astro van with no shame, it is completely paid for like that Durango her mom drives.

I drive a 16 yr old Toyota Corolla with one hubcap. NOBODY hijacks or steals that car. And it never breaks down. Runs better than anybody else's car in the family. Think of me as recycling and saving the planet.

I'm sorry as I can be. but the way I look at it if Danielle wants to cruise around on a new car she need to get a job and buy one. Mom will get a new car when she gets ready. And that's probably why she's waiting for Danielle to get a job and get her own damn car.
