I don’t need lenses or 8k. Like every year I’m hoping for better low light and easy high quality audio. Why can’t we have a Media Mod 2.0 with a built in Rode Wireless Receiver.

I honestly don't care about the looks at all. I just want good low light performance, NO overheating, and a bigger sensor. I think it would be cool if it actually had autofocus.

It’s important to know whether the Media Mod will be necessary or if we can connect the audio directly to the camera. It would also be good if we could connect audio via Bluetooth to the camera using a wireless mic.

With every new Gopro release I get excited, until I purchase and actually use the camera. Then the issues start. Bugs, overheating, freezing, disconnects from remote (and won't reconnect), lost footage, etc.
SO after way over a decade (starting with Hero HD) I am done with Gopro! Making the switch to DJI. They might be a bit behind Gorpo (they will catch up), but there is no denying the reliability of their cameras. I know I will not lose footage.

they need to do something with the heating issue, battery compartment and low light settings and who uses 8k anyway people don't even use 5k!

If the lens mount was in the middle of the GoPro, like the RX0, then it might have a 1 inch sensor, but since it is off to the side, I don’t think it has a 1 inch sensor.

As long as there is no freeze and it records normaly, without demaging the video files. It will be a great camera!

If we can get 5k60 and record more than 15 min without it melting that would be absolutely an accomplishment. 5k60 for 1hr should be a standard.

Interesting stuff on the new GoPros, I have the 10 and 11 but I think DJI have overtaken them. For me the Bluetooth mic connection on the DJI does it for me. I wonder if GoPro will have that option or connecting mics ??

The one with the grill has no front facing screen so for POV shots. For the second one, GoPro really need to up their game with audio and come out with a DJI style mic where the receiver is built into the camera otherwise DJI wins hands down.

The primary lens itself doesn't seem any larger on this new Hero 13 Black. But there is still a chance GoPro bumped up the sensor size... I had read the larger sensor sizes suffer greatly with a further minimum focus range (IE: You aren't getting a sharp image of anything short of a full arms-length away). It seems to me that offering a macro lens option is the only feasible solution to this problem. So, does the macro lens we are seeing in these photos exist because the sensor is larger? If so, how bad will the close-focus be without it? My money is on a larger sensor.

I have been very pleased with my GoPro 8 Black. I know newer models have marginally better stabilization, but to me the cost was not worth it. I am always interested in what the 13 has to offer, so I look forward to knowing more about it. Thanks for this valuable heads-up!

It's got to be, they tried the software and firmware update on the 12, and I don't think it would slide with the 13 . There are too many good alternatives now. Let's hope 13 is not unlucky for gopro
