Thanks, Dennis. You made a very good point. "If it is your will" is almost like making an excuse for our own lack of faith. And even if we have faith and our prayers are answered, we often forget to thank God for His faithfulness and miss out on a chance to prove to ourselves how effective faithful prayers can be. Without giving thanks, we tend to take it for granted or even worse, credit it to mere chance. I try to exercise my power of prayer as often as I can and try to be very specific. Seeing these specific prayers answered time and time again has been a great boost to my faith and my trust in our Father. And always be ready to accept that God doesn't always answer our prayers as we expect. The outcome at times can be very different than we had anticipated. Invariably, this always works out to our own benefit in the long run. Another reason to have faith that He hears us and answers.

Interesting. You've given me something to really think about. I do ask for specific blessings and I will say in prayer "if it is in accordance to your will" because I understand God has a plan for me and I don't know how His plan will play out. I agree with what you've stated, I'm just not sure how to balance that with submitting myself to the will of God.
