I'm from Argentina, my mom puts lemon in the Sprite and in anothers drinks called passage of the bulls (paso de los toros) and tonic water (agua tónica). With lemon and ice it tastes very good (we simply cut lemon slices and put them in the glass and wait to change flavor with the lemon for a few minutes, you can also add sugar if you want).

It is not only from Italy, my great-grandmother has been making it for as long as I can remember, here in Mexico they use it as a remedy to relieve stomachache.
Note tha it is just an easy quick remedy, that is know for help with belly pain, it is not a medical advice, if gastrointestinal troubles persists, the best and safe option is go to the hospital👍🏻
