Dear stranger on youtube, you made me so happy on this early Christmas morning.
I couldn't sleep, had my mind racing and I decided to google this preamp and see how to install and stuff, as I country over the boarder.
I could only find some other fishman in mine so I had it installed in my other guitar. This one is smaller size.
So just as I was searching how to install it, I somehow came across this video, woke up properly, got my guitar and started working on it.
At first, it didn't give any signs of working, but just outa nowhere, I got the green light.
My god! And I took it for a run at my friends, paid some money around to see if it could be fixed and nothing.
Thanks a bunch! I'ts a story to tell. :)

Mine hadn't worked for a couple years, but thanks to you the persistent "clicking" of the button fixed it. Thank you. And yes, I checked out your battery video as well.

Dang... My Fender had the same problem since 2 years ago. Same preamp. Never worked since today when I saw your video. Sprayed contact cleaner in the switsh.. also got crazy on it and it worked !! 2 years ago bought a Takamine EN10C as a replacement. No regrets on that move. But now I can use it again for live gigs. THANKS...!!!

I got this odd thing where the pre-amp works (audio output works fine including all volume and EQ controls) but when I hit the tuner button it only blinks green on the tuner display but never registers a single note.

Well, rather than "going spastic" and possibly causing other damage, just undo the 4 screws, take it out and clean with some isopropyl alcohol or contact cleaner. You could even use acetone (in nail polish remover) but I don't recommend it because you might damage the finish on your guitar if it spills.

"Short, sweet, to the point"... that's how I like my YT vids. I have this same issue and will excercise that little button. I gues it doesn"t help that the case stays humid to kerp the axe "supple". Thx !

Of all of the things I’ve tried I cannot believe this worked. My signal was cutting out and spamming the shit out of it did the trick.

I have one of those tuners and pick up units
It really annoys me
After tuning, I leave the battery on, and then it goes flat.
Then sometimes When I plug it into my amp it wont go.

I took it to the shop where I bought it, and the guy sprayed those buttons with crc.
It helped a bit.

But I'd like to replace it wiht just a volume control unit.
The built in tuner is just too much hassle

Last night I had some friends round, and I spent ten minutes trying to get some sound out of my guitar.
It made me look like a fool

Your problem may be ONE problem and not the one others are having. Check the obvious one: If you changed strings, your saddle can fall out and have no contact to the under-saddle ribbon pickup. A weak signal will show up only if you pluck strings hard to make enough signal to activate the tuner!. A saddle can fall loose out of the slot and you assume the problem is a tuner problem all of a sudden.
If it is a Peavey DW2, the battery may be at the jack end of the guitar, so look there for a strong battery.
