I always put a dollop of icing on the cake stand to keep the cake from sliding around when you are icing it.

This information is helpful for me because I only have a springform cake pan. Cardboard rounds and toothpicks are reasonably priced.

Thank you for the quick video and this makes so much sense! However if nobody ever tells you these things, it would be too easy to chill and then eye the cake and go for it, thus ruining it 😢
