I think networking and asking questions is the serving me well. Some people like yourself have a wealth of knowledge and it is great to be able seek advice. This really helps me focus and not waste time on topics and technologies that probably won't serve me much in my career trajectory.

I haven’t been given advice so memorable as yours however what i have noticed is that logging new activities, particularly in linux, helps with troubleshooting should something go wrong. Thank you for your very informative videos. For some reason i am magnetically attracted by them. Never ever been in such a situation with YouTube. Could well be because i just passed my CC exam.

but even if I don't get the job I still make conversations with the recruiter to see what requirements I need to start working on those

This is a gold advise. Same here. I work for cybersecurity MSSP small company 50 employees. Communication with senior management easier.
I worked and still working on anything people don’t want to touch. I learned a lot and helped me to pass CiSSP easier that what I expected.
