00:00 🎯 Identify industry events: Attending industry-specific events and conferences can provide valuable exposure and networking opportunities.
01:09 🚪 Take the first step: Simply showing up, even when reluctant, can lead to unexpected opportunities and connections.
01:50 💼 Consider learning in established firms: Starting your career in a corporation can offer structured training and knowledge foundation, preparing you for future endeavors.
03:00 🌱 Learning on someone else's dime: Gaining experience in smaller companies (<10 people) can offer more visibility and diverse responsibilities.
03:29 💰Pragmatic approach to entrepreneurship: Learning while working for others minimizes personal financial risk and provides a safety net.
04:10 🔍 Corporate vs. startup dynamics: Corporations can invest more in employee development, while startups demand rapid personal growth to keep up with their pace.
05:07 ⚖ Consider personal growth pace: Startups demand swift individual growth, while corporations might offer a slower but potentially more manageable learning curve.

I think start ups are great to get your foot in the door! But they are horrible for training and development unless you expect the company to take off. That’s why it’s important to have an exit plan and look for your next role! Company loyalty doesn’t exist anymore so we need to take agency in our careers.

Very great insights! Mentors are a huge leverage to have. They are also willing to lend advice and support you, so you don't make similar mistakes.

With any company, culture's important. You need to surround yourself with people who use good practices/are good at their job. Incompetence is pretty inescapable, but you can surround yourself with those who are as competent as possible and learn from them. Particularly if you're in a tech focused role, you should be working at companies using modern technologies rather than dated ones and using best practice

I was an unexperienced stock trader and i lost over $30K when everything started to tank. Not because I was in an exchange that went belly up. I was just stupid to hold and because that's what everyone said. I'm still responsible. It just taught me to be a better investor now that I understand more of what could go wrong. It took me over two years of being in the market, I'm really grateful I find one source to recover my money, at least $5k profits weekly. Thanks so much Mrs. Evelyn Keil 02:23 Beautiful video keep it up
