Very well said. What I like about Tech Deals is that it looks for deals that cater to a wide range of PC gamers, from the general consumer type to DIY enthusiasts. 👍

While I can personally build my own system, I can see why others would rather have someone do it for them. Sure, one can develop the skill over time, but some people would rather use that "time" on something more meaningful to them. People who call others who don't build their own system "lazy" are elitist, egocentric, narrow-minded, toxic, and not very inclusive. Sadly, this is very common in tech, and as far as I'm concerned, the guitar community. It is appalling.

Yes if someone wants to buy their pc just plug it and play i agree is good, but i like building my own pc and by the way i put the hardware i want and i need, custom pcs are custom.

P.S.: Tech cannot even get the electric switches redone without getting a discount XD.

You do have a semi custom build. When the store make it possible for you to pick parts from a list and then the store build them.

This, one thing a lot overlook when talking about building PCs is that, if you build your own PC, unless you know about computers or have a friend who knows...

YOU are your own tech support and the sole responsible for your PC, it's a compromise and as such carries responsibilities

I have some friends that are into PC gaming, I gladly help them but I am cautious too, because if I break anything, it's my fault

Just throwing in my 2 cents, I prefer pre built. the reason is because if you get one built at mom and pop shop or built one yourself. If the motherboard goes out and its Asus, then you have to contact asus wait them send you a new one and all that trouble. Same with Western digital drive, Nvidia video card, whoever makes the power supply. I would rather buy a good reputable pre built throw a 3 or 4 extended warranty on it. Call support have them send out someone to fix it.

So it will save $150 to let someone else build an equivalent computer. Considering the value of my time, it is only worthwhile because I have an interest in doing so. It is funny Tech uses oil as an example, I quit doing my oil as soon as I got out of college. However, now I have two vehicles that recommend full synthetic. High quality oil, oil filter and air filter are under $50. I just paid a mechanic almost $90 for the synthetic oil change that did not include an air filter, so $110. Saving $60 for 45 minutes worth of work is making me reconsider how much I hate having to deal with used oil.

What about custom build vs bussiness prebuild like Optiplex, Vostro, Inspiron, XPS, LOQ, Legion, Aurus, ROG Strix etc.? Because those business prebuilds are way more expensive than the same parts custom build and sometimes even parts like motherboards, PSU, RAM etc. are not interchangable and you must buy specific models to upgrade. What is the benefit of those bussiness prebuilds?

different between prebuilt vs ur custom is prebuilt cheap out part and max profit. common about prebuilt and custom is that your troubleshoot, they tell about basic it like did u check all cable is plug in, cpu/gpu temp is normal, try reinstall windows, or unplug every cable and put it them back together... i say custom is better even with gpu cris...

I build my own because I really enjoy it, like to save money, and feel better about the quality of the finished product since I truly know how it was put together and configured.

Pre-built systems totally have their place in the PC ecosystem. Some people just don’t want or know how to build a system. Nothing wrong with using the services of others in those cases.

I like making my own pc BUT I'm terrible with wire management and I would pay to have someone come clean the wires up and rerun them. it looks decent on the mb side but the back i can barely close. I wouldn't mind getting some custom wires made but I don't know how to measure it out and all

The DIY ethos is not motivated by financial optimality. It's about interacting with the universe on an intentional and personal level. Paying fees to pawn off liability and get a pre-packaged solution for everything you deem "unworthy of your time" will (over time) make you inept at general experimentation and problem solving within the environment you thrust yourself into with those solutions. It also robs you of sentimental attachments you'd otherwise have to the things you own (by not understanding or taking ownership in any of the human elements that go into making them work).

Obviously there's a balance to be had here, but I hope my response resonates with those trapped in that "pay to win" lane of life. It seems to me that the increased access to credit and information in the 21st century ended up pushing a lot of people (especially younger generations) towards the extreme end of this unfulfilling lifestyle.

That archangel pc is crap. There is no intake or uptake really, because the slit in the side for air is tiny

a simple answer to those who do prebuilt vs self built. do you grow your own vegetable or carve your own meat, that thing comes froma vendor who did that work so you dont have to like digging the potato cleaning it up and market then to markets. so prebuilt have their own place in pc ecosystem as well. people really need to think twice before doing anything on internet.
good content as always.
