The APR Stage I ECU Upgrade is designed to work without requiring other changes to the vehicle's hardware. With the ECU Upgrade alone, APR's Calibration Experts measured higher peak figures of 290 ft-lbs of torque and 245 horsepower with 93 AKI octane fuel. Large gains were seen throughout the power band, including an additional 92 ft-lbs of torque and 62 horsepower. The increase in power directly translates to an exceptionally quicker vehicle. Using advanced GPS measuring devices, APR's engineers conducted several acceleration tests. During the 100-200 KPH sprint, the APR Stage I equipped vehicle crossed the finish line 9.845 seconds quicker, resulting in an outstanding 35% improvement!

APR's ECU upgrade is the best power per dollar modification for the new 1.8 TSI engine and takes the vehicle's performance to similar levels typically reserved for higher output, sporty models, without pushing the limits. With factory-like smoothness and drivability, APR's ECU upgrade will fill the void in an otherwise excellent vehicle.

Very nice. This engine on cars for less than $20k is a lot of bang for the buck, specially when tuned. Great gas mileage and solid performance.

Test drove an automatic one yesterday and that is a nice little engine. My mother in law has the 2.5 in her golf and this new 1.8t seems quite a bit faster.  If we get it know where to bring it.  Damn good job fellas.

This motor is underated. My passat feels much quicker to 60, than 7.4!! Regardless, this tune makes a good thing great!!!

WOW! Thats impressive.  I can't wait until this engine comes into the new golf!  Should be even quicker.  This thing would romp on my current golf 2.5 5 cylinder with bolt ons and tune.  Jeez.

This is the new Jetta se's motor? Not bad.My 2.5 sucks. What are the baseline numbers and mod numbers?
Nevermind went to the website. Pretty strong numbers.
I knew the 1.8 was stronger than indicated, as with most F/I motors from the factory are.

LOL. Comments on this video from a year ago in hopes of a tiptronic version released and STILL nothing. This video was posted on January 23rd of 2014. Its now March 30th 2015 and no tiptronic version yet. Such a shame. Im ready to give my hard earned money for a tune and yet cant have it. Sad thing is its not just APR, Its unitronic too. Was really looking forward to going with APR along with a stage 2 upgrade. At this rate it'll be another year for the tiptronic version and another year after that for stage 2. Smh. Guess it'll just be a Neuspeed Power Module unitl then.
