fun fact: the reason the recharger rifle does poor damage is cuz its a old model of the recharger guns, the recharger pistol is a more advanced variant cuz its a lighter and more portable version of the recharger rifle

I’m surprised you didn’t go to the Goodsprings Cave first and get the recharger rifle off the dead Bright Follower there. It’s also astounding how you can find Bright followers sprinkled throughout the whole game map.

Trigger discipline is an awesome trait for the recharger rifle. Firing slower is a fine trade off for a weapon that needs to recharge ammo over time, and more accuracy translates to more damage.

4:24 All laser weapons, not just the recharger rifle, lack the ability to knock stuff over. As lasers are made of light, and light has no mass, it cannot push items. This behavior is also in Fallout 4. And yes, by that logic, laser weapons should have no recoil either, but I suppose the latter is implemented for gameplay purposes.

You know, I thought that whole beating the game with a rolling pin was a dumb idea, but then I thought it'd be funny to beat the game as one of the crazy grandmas in that wild wasteland encounter.

Rolling pin is the only weapon, Spring dress is the only armor, and you play as an old disgruntled grandma courier upset over getting shot in the head. Could also use Lilly to start up you're own schizo granny gang.

I actually love the recharger weapons. the concept of infinite ammo but not really, is really cool.

Fun fact
The recharger rifle specifically is so glitchy if you cripple a wolf you could end up fully healing the wolf instwad of killing it

I'd really like to see you doing a challenge with only 100 holy handgrenades. loose canon, splash damage and demolition expert one or two. most of that needs console commands but man that is a hard challenge. tried it myself and died over and over again thanks to the giant explosions the holy handgrenades do

Ah, the Meltdown perk. Years ago, when I decided to give an energy weapon build a try, that was what made it utterly amazing. And it's why even a recharger rifle can be a weapon of scientific doom. God, now I want to try this challenge - takes me back.

You know there is always a recharge rifle set to spawn in the goodsprings cave right. It's on a dead Bright follower in a cave full of coyotes just outside of goodsprings by the wild wasteland encounter that gives you the swave gamblers hat.

about the bottles: none of the laser weapons impart kinetic force to clutter objects, as they are shooting light and so the projectile has no mass, its a nice bit of attention to detail from the developers

The laser weapons in the fallout franchise not nicking over items is actually lore accurate, as the laser is light refraction and doesn't use mass to damage. However there is an inaccuracy in that laser weapons should not have recoil.

Getting the Recharger Rifle this early must have been a pain in the ass. Great run! But can you beat Fallout: New Vegas with only the Scribe Counter? Or only with the hand-to-hand moves you're taught by the various factions?

Fun fact, the holorifle can trigger the meltdown perk but the killing blow has to be from the shot of the gun not from the DoT

Apparently the institute was supposed to have infinite ammo laser guns. But at the last moment they removed that and kept the extra low damage for no reason.

That is why the tech based faction makes the worst weapons in game.

The unique recharger pistol is literally a staple of every one of my playthroughs. Low strength requirement, amazing dps, no ammo? I normally end up packing that and the cleaning flame

Can you beat Fallout 3 or New Vegas on Opposite Day?

Rules; you must beat the entire game with your keyboard, mouse and/or controller completely upside down. you must flip your monitor upside down. you must point a camera and have your keyboard+mouse and/or controller in the corner of the screen, while also showing the monitor. you do not have to show yourself. you are allowed to show the video normally in the YouTube video, as people will be able to see your monitor is flipped in the webcam. every choice you make in the game must be the reverse of what you'd typically make. if you would normally save goodsprings, then you must take it over with the Powder Gangers in this run.

This is actually how I beat vegas the first time I ever played it! I left goodsprings after the ghost town gunfight quest with a 357 revolver I'd bought from chet.

It was my first time playing vegas so I wanted to explore all the cool places I could see in the distance, the first among those was the Mojave outpost I was allurred by.

On my way along the road I encountered a brotherhood scribe by the police station that was off to the right side of the road and she had a recharger rifle!

I'm still not sure why to this day but the moment she saw me, she started blasting me with the rifle and so, as you'd expect, I blew her head off with the revolver.

After looting the scribe, I was curious about the rifle that she carried... it looked odd as I'd never seen anything like it before in the fallout series so I took it out and started toying with it. I was confused at first, seeing only the one ammo I'd gotten for the thing.... surely the scribe had used more than that to nearly kill me.

After using all the ammo (Or so I'd thought) something caught my eye.... the 0/7 had gone up!!!!

I looked back at the rifles name, "recharger"

My heart instantly jumped out of my chest at the fun I was gonna have with it. I used that rifle for the rest of the game, believing no other weapon would even come close to being as great as this thing! I affectionately named her (the rifle) "Char" after her ability to turn my enemies to ash.

While these days I know I was wrong to think no weapon was worth my time other than this neat laser, it still remains my go to weapon to this day for both early and late game when I know I might need something reliable without a doubt.

No matter what, The rifle served me well.
