My grandfather of my mother's side went to work in Mozambique when he was young. He got married there and never returned to China. I love to receive his letters because the stamps were large, beautifully coloured and featuring wild animals. At one time, he sent back a dry, palm size crocodile gall bladder, saying it was good to treat cancer.

I Lived in Mozambique (banking) and I have been in Rovuma river, Mueda, dived in Quirimbas, Palma, Mocimboa, Bazaruto (Santa Carolina), Inhaca island, and lived for 17 years at Maputo. It is a fabulous country, and has a great friendly People, my sons were born there in the 70`s. I made the most marvellous diving in the coastal coral reefs as well as rod and reel fishing. All Mozambique speak Portuguese (official language) and very well. The food was great shrimps, lobster, fishes, cashew. We had cyclones in 1966. Politics change every country, Mozambique as well as Portugal.

My roots are traced back to Mozambique, my father is said to be from that country, he is said to be of a Sena tribe. I wish one day i will find a person who can tell me more about the Sena people and hopefully i will be able to trace my roots.
