The elderly wood worker, what a gentleman! The quality of his work looked amazing. I agree with you Nick, if you can find a job that you love and can do for 50 years, that’s special.

Just like the tour guide from Haiti, i love this tour guide! he is not afraid to speak about the countries problems, he uses his privilege of knowing he lives in a better area, and is more likely to stay safe, to speak up for thousands and maybe even millions of people. This man is about the shits.

I was in Maputo earlier this year with my girlfriend and we walked around the city with no issues at all, we always felt safe and people left us alone. It is hard to believe you and I went to the same place a few months apart and we saw the city so differently.

Lived in Mozambique for 1 year. Zero problems. Allways felt safe, even travelling by Chapa, from city outskirt to city outskirt. The only issue was the conditions of the roads and the way people drive. Otherwise, very safe. This is a hugely exagerated video.

I was impressed by the old guy 85 year old and still passionate by his work, for him whatever are the circumstances or the government just keep living on. So wise. 👌

Bigup to the 85-year-old; learnt from him to always make the best of every situation using whats available
His attitude is top notch

Visited Mozambique about about 5 years back. Always felt incredibly safe and frequently walked around Maputo (and other areas) at night. Some of the most friendly, inviting people in the world.

I am from the African continent and I knew nothing about Mozambique. I didn't even know they speak Portuguese. Thank you for allowing us to discover these places and learn about their struggles.
Special shout out to Edmilson. If just a small portion of the population are like him, I think Mozambique will sure have a better future.

was in maputo in 2018 and ended up spending 5 weeks traveling all the way to nampula by land in the minibuses, mozambique is a beautiful country, had a blast! i remember going to the fish market in maputo and getting basically all you can eat king prawns and then having them prepare in the restaurants right next door. good memories!

This is one of those episodes where your guide is the star of the episode. What a smart, grounded citizen. Hope he gets whatever he wishes for.

I do appreciate you showing this side of Mozambique that many ppl are afraid to show, and we do have serious problems here, but it's not all bad and criminal everywhere
There are nice people here, nice places and tourist spots and safe places too

I've said it before, I'll say it again, this is the best channel on youtube by far. You deserve everything good in this life for this content that you bring to the world showing us what life is like unfiltered in these places we will most likely never get to see. I like what the woodworker said, being resilient, regardless of the times, being independent from the forces, regimes, and governments around you, YOU are the decider of a better life, a better future.

This man is really the origin of the dangerous travel vlogs! YouTube travel videos wouldn’t be the same without indigo’s influence. Legend, and of course this should go without saying, great video man 👑 I aim to be like him!

Glad to see the streets in Maputo are cleaner than Kensington Philadelphia in the US
