Saratoga and GIANT Catfish on the Dawson River

A trip from late last year on the Dawson River. As the rivers dried to a standstill, I went in search of Saratoga in a new spot (to me) and managed to get onto one early. Amidst a truly interesting environment, I came across turtles, tiny Banded Grunter, Eel-tailed Catfish nests and some giant Fork-tailed Catfish. Toward the end of the day, I could net get past the catfish as I trolled my way to a point to drift back on the wind.

You did well to pick a Toga from among all those catfish! There are some beasts in there by the looks of it too.

Another great vid! Tried the Dstyle Reserves on toga yet? Literally the only lure I use for them these days. I take the feather off the back and add a size 6 S-owner treble (leaving the smaller middle treble on) . I tried the bigger size 4 treble for a couple trips but had a better hookup rate with the size 6. I use the same setup on bass as well and works unbelievably well.Great surface lure for jack too, I just tend to run a single size 4 S-owner treble because 2 get tangled up.
