I just want to say how GREAT this vacuum is! I've owned it for years, and it goes everywhere in my house. Recently, I acquired another vacuum and relegated the small Dyson to upstairs so I wouldn't have to carry it up and down stairs all the time. But then a couple of weeks ago, I slipped and broke my foot, and am non-weightbearing for a while. My downstairs vacuum was too big and heavy for me to manage. But my husband brought the small ball Dyson downstairs, and I LOVE it!! I was able to use my knee scooter to support my injured leg and still push the Dyson vacuum everywhere around the downstairs of my house. HURRAY!! We have hardwood floors, so dust and pet hair can collect; what a joy to have a vacuum that is SO lightweight and easy to use, I can vacuum with only one good leg! THANK YOU!

This vacuum is great. I have read reviews on here by other people saying that it does not work on carpet. I don’t know what kind of carpet they’re using it on but it works great on all my carpets and hardwood floors and ceramic floors I can’t say enough good about this vacuum it works exactly how they say it would. It’s got great suction and works great on all my carpets and hard floors and it’s easy to clean.

I’ve had this vacuum (the second generation one with the plastic wand) for over five years now with no problems whatsoever. Everything from the carbon fibre bristles, two tier cyclones, easy to maneuver ball, to the self adjusting cleaner head are designed perfectly. It’s just right in every way; suction, weight, durability. It never seizes to surprise me on how much dirt it can pick up from my carpets and mattress. Haven’t replaced the filters or anything else on the vacuum. And it never lost any suction so I guess it’s true. It picks up the same amount of dirt since the day I bought it.

I hope the next full size Dyson will have the handle attached to the cord. So when i pull out the cord, i can use the handle with it.

If only if Dyson can make a vacuum smaller than that with the same, bally design, but also a tad lighter as this model is still currently heavier than the cordless vacuum cleaners.
My mum has arthritis and she has a big Miele vacuum cleaner and it's also quite heavy, weighing over 5 or 6 kilograms. She cannot carry and handle vacuum cleaners as heavy as that these days and it's getting to be a hard knock life for her.
So, Sir James Dyson, if only if you can make an upright vacuum cleaner with your archetypal ball of yours, how about if you would like to make a model that looks similar to the small ball design but much lighter and a little smaller as well, perfect for my mum to use and if not, she'll go for the cordless models, that you have made for us.

Instead of releasing Small Ball Allergy that's basically Light Ball with new tools, you should've released this one with better floor head and with reduced noise.
It's a great machine but with few improvements it could be greater. It doesn't need carbon fibre filaments as they wear quickly.
It also gets messy on the bottom of the bin while emptying and you need to wipe it otherwise the dust will just end up being sucked by the motor.

I am based in the U.K. But 2 out of the three occasions it has broken it has made a loud bang and would then refuse to work again and on these occasions there was nothing obstructing the head it was clean, but I am very happy with dyson because when it last broke it had recently run out of warranty but they said they would give me another one for free but they also said if it breaks again I would have to pay for it so it has now gone again and I have just got another head. But when I rang them they said there was a " design flaw" with the head
