I love that scolding of the term "resource". The language we use is often a reflection of our thinking. We should be aware of the language we use and what impact it had on is and others

What if the question was about resources for real?
I mean what if the question was about shared resources, environments and the maintenance of those. This topic could cause headache for many teams especially in feature factories. As a solution, management creates "tooling teams" around these problems who are distant from the Scrum Teams' need. This usually adds more complexity and dependency.

People are not resources but their time is.

🛫 I like the setup my current company has, where each team has a "leadership" trio: PM (mr backlog), EM (mr human), AC (mr agile) :D I would say that this is why an organization still needs managers, and where their role fits next to the Scrum Team's structure. Years back, I was doing the people management part as a Scrum Master, and it wasn't easy. A lot of conflicts of interest and other impediments that come with such a setup, so while I think I have the skills to do it, I wouldn't recommend it. Also, worth discussing: shouldn't the team itself...SELF-MANAGE !

🛬 Yes, that is where my mind was also going. There is a lot the team does by themselves, while some things still require managers and other roles within the organization. While I would say, the team should, as it grows in maturity, to do more within the Scrum Team.
