I figured out that I didn't have a neutral wire, so I could only get either the pilot light or the device to turn on and off.

I have a question. I have this switch controlling light in my attic. I noticed when I flip the switch, the indicator light on the switch does not turn on....when I moved in, I guess the electricians, wired it without the neutral on the silver screen in the switch. So I took the white neutral and attached it to the silver screw and now the indicator light stays on whether the switch is on or off. Is that because its functioning as a hott wire? All the other wires in the box are hooked up like shown in this video. Any suggestions? Thank you
